My name is Fan Hildisheim (Fan Feng), I am a FYTT teacher working in Calgary Board of Education. I am currently working as a full time substitute teacher in most Calgary Board of Education schools. I graduated from St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick and University of New Brunswick Saint John with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Mathematics as a middle/secondary math & Science teacher, however, I have found my passion in teaching Elementary school. I graduated from University of New Brunswick Saint John with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Mathematics.
My Journey 🌍
I was born in China, and moved to New Zealand when I was 12 years old . I moved to Canada in 2011 with my parents, and I became a Canadian Citizen in 2014.
My Strengths Related to Teaching ❤️
I am very patient, caring, creative and responsible. I am positive and happy, I enjoy working with children and youth. I enjoy working with children and teaching ; I love using creative ways to help children understand difficult mathematics concepts. I enjoy sitting down to brainstorm fun ways to help the students remember and absorb knowledge. I believe that education is very important, especially elementary and secondary education can change children’s lives and can really help them discover their potential.
I have many experiences working with children and youth by teaching and tutoring. I had experience teaching in church Sunday school, camps, math tutoring, teaching English as ESL teacher to the new immigrates and Syrian Newcomers.
My Goals For My Teaching Career 📚
1) Be an amazing teacher! Provide safe & loving space for my students. Believing every student have their unique potential.
2) Be a life-long learner. Teach children to have a growth mindset.
3) Be the teacher I wanted when I was young.
